yes的基本意思是“是”,還可指“不錯(cuò)”“好的”等,通常與肯定句連用。
yes可用于對某事作出肯定的答復(fù)或用以表示某一說法正確或說話人同意某一觀點(diǎn); 或表示同意某人的要求。yes也可用以表示接受邀請或提議,或答應(yīng)呼喚,還可以表示詢問某人之所需。yes有時(shí)還用來對自己的話加以肯定或用來更正對方說的話。在口語里, yes有時(shí)能用以構(gòu)成反意疑問句,但與yes構(gòu)成這種反意疑問句呼應(yīng)的主句卻不必非是否定形式不可,也可以是肯定形式。
